The heroes are- Gothmog, Boromir and the elf Princess Arwen so this brings the total number of playable characters to 20. All the maps can be used in deathmatch, team deathmatch and conquest.

Honestly i thought that this game was going to be another one of those “Rent from blockbuster” titles which no one really expects to be any good. But after its pick up from THQ this game started to gain some hype and I thought that i would pick it up and give it a try. Hailing itself as a run and gun shooter i was sure that i would get a few thrills from this. Or would I?

The Largest problem with this game is the over the top storyline which kind of makes you think “why?”. 50 is performing the last part of his tour in a middle eastern country when his paycheck is stolen by some Local @$$ holes and the only way to be repaid was to kill the tour manager( i know…strange). Upon his death 50 notices a Diamond encrusted skull and takes that as his payment instead untill it promtly gets swiped by a weird woman. In his only way to find resolve he goes out to terrorise a city run by- as you would have guessed-Terrorists. I really think they should have hired new writers because it gets worse-oh yes! The plot beggins to become intertwined with a variety of weapon dealers and of course in a rap game- Strip club owners, .
Despite the terrible storyline this game manages to somehow still amuse. Cent’s quest for blood follows him through the grimey streets of a dilapidated city and along for assistance is one of your G-UNIT buddies who carry different skills and provide support for you. Also due to xbox live anyone of your friends can become a member of G-UNIT and tear up the streets with you. Even if you play in 2 player co-op the story will remain the same so dont worry about missing any levels. This title really pulls from the likes of the gears of war series with the cover system and the navigation spots to be used with yourself and another player. Even though this system was built in it isn’t really useful because it’s more like an arcade style game where you have to rack up points of performing “stylish” kills. Also it features driving and helicopter parts which kind of break the game up into easier sections.

The main point of this game is to see you scoring points by killing enemies. Most of the time you’ll be sprinting through levels spraying your foes to death in a shower of bullets then moving onto the next one. Sometimes there are scenarios that require you do  certain objectives such as killing snipers and blowing up helicopters in a time limit to be rewarded with big points.This means that everytime there is another way to approach the level in order to gain the most points which makes it fun.

There is a lot of variety with weapons. They come in four catagories: Pistols, close combat, special and machine guns. So yes…there is alot of ways to deal death to your unfortunate victims. If you get close enough you can unleash a barrage of melee attacks which require a lot of button pressing untill finishing up with a take down. Problems with this are like that you can rarely get close enough and most of the time you are surrounded by a swarm of enimies so it is basically useless. Collecting cash from each level allows you to purchase new weapons and takedowns accompanied by new taunts that will humiliate your foes therefore makeing your points increase.

Everything else apart from 50 Cent in the graphics point of view could really do with some work. 50 looks superb but everything else feels to me like it was all rushed at the last minute. The backdrops seem to just be the same old buildings and rundown streets so it becomes repetative. Also for some reason when you hit a check point the texture of everything on your screen disappears only to re-appeare half a minute later looking normal. It happens on every single level so prepared to be gob smacked at the lack of testing this game must have been put through.

Most of the achievements are disappointing as you gain them by playing through and completing the game then doing it again as a member of G-UNIT. Using your money you will gain achievements such as having $1 million dollars and buying every weapon and melee move in the game. Other achievements include getting gold medals, killing people in numerous ways and completeing a number of scenarios. Nothing really hard but you will have to play the game at least twice to bag all of them.

This game really didnt make me jump for joy or cry in sorrow. Going through each level made me a little more happier with the the game but that was about it. If you like light hearted action games then this one is definatly for you. If not as i said in the beggining-Perfect rental copy. Don’t expect alot and don’t expect to play it through again once you have fully finished it. Have fun!
